Actually, the original character design had his head trapped in frozen fire for eternity, and the whole point of this drawing was to set him freeeee!!!

The toony/mini substyle is meant to be a halfway between common anime style and the actual chibi, making the characters shorter and cuter but keeping anatomy and details to not make them look (too much) like kids
