Cutey Honey. its also spelt Cutie Honey. there's several tv versions and two live action movies as well as about a dozen or so comics.

the first one that i saw was called 'New Cutey Honey'. it was made in the late 80's/early 90's.
its only 8 episodes but its pretty good.

originally, she was going to be holding a rocket launcher that fired blue shells, but it didn't turn out well. the machine gun fits much better.
