I decided to design him as a cool and chill scientist who was part of the Parkers' inner circle.
He turned evil when a burglar killed his friend, especially when May and Ben Parker were there for him after his accident.

Eventually, after finding out that Spiderman is his dear friend's nephew and beloved student, he decided to give up, but Peter let him go because he understands the anger and frustration he felt when they both lost such a valuable person.

After that he helps Peter with his technological knowledge.
