why do I have this strange feeling that they don't really like my movies?
Think of it this way, it's more among the line of people having different taste. I've seen a lot of different "movie" on Newgrounds and from what I know, people tend to gravitate towards things with more frames, popularity, ideas, and certain subjective flavors to the thing.
Easier to put it, it didn't quite hit its target audience. Certain animation can be quite niche toward a group of people :)
